Who dat Say They’s No N’awlins food in Boston?: Revelry sets the South straight (Originally posted 4/17)

For those who miss Po’Boys in Newton and those who may not have the time to luxuriate in a repast at Chef Jason Santos’ new Buttermilk and Bourbon, there is now a N’awlins flavor source that can literally come to you!

Revelry Nawlins Cuisine (www.revelryboston.com) is one of the latest and most follow-worthy food trucks on the burgeoning Boston scene. More than just Southern, this authentic Crescent City carrier offers everything from Barq;s root beer, Zapp’s potato chips, and legendary Leidenheimer bread (which is dern hard to find outside of the Big Easy) to Crystal Hot Sauce and Zatarain’s spices.

Created by Katrina orphans Brian and Jennifer Ledet and Georgia Bulldogs Lance and Cindy Giddens, Revelry brings the heart and soul of N’awlins to Boston and beyond. Their website updates their locations weekly, allowing devotees to not miss a day while encouraging new fans to hop in the second line anytime they want.

In addition to authentic shrimp, roast beef, and hot sausage po’boys (complete with the most delicious “debris” around), Revelry also offers real red beans and rice, shrimp remoulade salad and, of course, Jambalaya. While they may not have room for a beignet baking operation, the pralines make for a sweet finale that can be taken to go and offered as lagniappe (an extra bonus) for friends and family.

While the truck moves around regularly to reach the maximum number of fans (common locations being Back Bay, North Station, Chinatown, and the Financial District), Revelry also caters. So the next time you want to put some REAL South in your mouth, Laissez les bon temps rouler right to your office or neighborhood!
