Parish Cafe celebrates 25 years

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on Boston’s 50,000-watt CBS affiliate WBZ AM 1030 weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Much to our delight and the delight of our listeners, the Boston dining scene has blossomed over the past 25 years with new taste sensations arriving almost daily.

Through it all, however, one place has remained both a safe bet for great food and a leading-edge pioneer of whatever iss next.

The Parish Café and Bar on Boylston Street and in the South End has been a staple of the Boston scene for a quarter-century. And while its fun vibe and great food and service have not changed, the thing that keeps the Parish fresh is its willingness- nay desire- to change its menu.

Instead of hanging its fortunes on the talents of one chef, Parish has continually sought to partner with Boston’s many great chefs and to invite them all to contribute recipes for its ever-evolving sandwich selection. From Jason Bond to Tiffany Faison to Chris Schlesigner and on and on, Boston’s best have always been comfortable collaborating with the talented team of co-owners Gordon Wilcox and Sean Simmons, and many have even benefitted by having the opportunity to try new ideas outside their own kitchens. The ones who benefit most, of course, are the diners who come back again and again seeking the latest taste sensation.

So no matter what you are in the mood for, drop by the Parish for lunch or dinner and enjoy an old favorite or see what the next big buzz will be about.
