The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Boston Local Food Fest

As Boston becomes more of a thought leader in the food space, it ha also become a leader in the local food craze. Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than at the Boston Local Food Fest which will be returning for its seventh year on September 18 from 11-5 all along the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

At this free, zero-waste farmers market, fans of fresh local fare can enjoy the latest tastes and meet the people who make them possible.

In addition to over 100 vendors that range from Alex’s Ugly Sauce, Allendale Farm, and Apotheker’s honey-sweetened sweets to ChikChak food truck, Flour Bakery, FoMu dairy-free frozen dessert, Fresh Box Farm and Golden Girl Granola to Maple Water, Minus the Moo lactose-free ice cream, Olivia’s Organics, Red Apple Farm, Spindrift Soda, and Taza Chocolate, the Fest will also feature an educational and entertaining Family Fun Zone presented by Trustees of Reservations, a chef demonstration stage and live music. For the pescetarians, there will also be a seafood throwdown and fish fileting tutorial sponsored by the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance.

If you want even MORE fun, head around the corner to the South Street Diner for their Customer Appreciation Day which will be held on the 18th from 2-6. No matter where you go or what you try, it will surely be a great day for eating!
