Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
Having made their mark in Boston, food trucks are now expanding into more suburban regions, bringing new tastes and ideas to hungry fans who are literally eating them up.
For the die-hard fins, there are now a slew of food truck festivals which are also expanding across MA and the country.
One of the fastest growing is Food Truck Festivals of America, which now offers a series of 11 festivals that range from MA to New Mexico. Each festival features at least 25 trucks from the area and, new this year, over 20 craft breweries as well. Many festivals will even offer special beer sampling passes that will allow them to enjoy unlimited samples of over 50 beers!
Among the area stops are Worcester on June 4, Providence on August 6, Cape Cod on August 27, Quincy September 17, Portsmouth, NH October 2, Stoneham October 15, Wachussett Mountain November 12, and a special vegetarian and vegan truck event on September 10 in Watertown. The popular Food Truck Wednesdays program recently relaunched for the summer at the Arsenal Project in Watertown as well, featuring such local legends as Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, healthy Vietnamese from Bon Me (which has been expanding all over the area), Dining Car, Frozen Hoagies homemade ice cream and the Chicken & Rice Guys. No matter what you like to eat or drink these events are sure to have something for you and something that may be pulling up near you in days to come.
