Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
For those who may be wondering where famed Chef Josh Foley went when he left Harvest in Cambridge, the answer is simple- He went home. As in home to Medfield where he recently opened another reason to visit (other than Nosh & Grog, which is literally across the parking lot) called Avenue.
With funky installation art and a wood-fired flatbread oven and rotisserie that Chef Foley loads in the morning and tends himself through most of dinner service, the vibe and the food at Avenue are both comfortable and cosmopolitan. The menu is filled with beautifully-presented ample portions of watermelon radish and red quinoa salad, a not-so-short cider-braised shortrib, an amazing Miso-glazed salmon, or the app two-fer of ginger-sesame glazed wings with scallion pancake, and also has plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options. The front bar area also stocks an impressive wine selection as well as great beers from around New England and further afield and a curated craft cocktail program that rivals any downtown.
So while Harvard Square may be mourning the loss of a favorite chef, Josh is doing just fine back at home and invites both old friends and new to come to the Avenue for a visit.
