Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
The more as we talk about great food and drink, Jordan, the more I realize and appreciate how challenging it can be to produce creative servings of quality.
That is why I was so psyched to find this new cocktail guide called Shake. Stir, Sip by Wine Enthusiast spirits editor and Wall Street Journal contributor Kara Newman.
It contains 50 delicious cocktail recipes, each of which includes equal parts of each ingredient. From the two-ingredient hits like the Rob Roy and Americasno to popular pours like the Negroni, Grasshopper, and even a five-star (and five ingredient) rum punch, the book is organized by number of ingredients and also offers focused features on certain faves for the more meta-minded mixologists among us. It even suggests the items that are “must-haves’ and “nice-to-haves” for the home or restaurant bar and what glassware “goes” with each drink.
So while it may be fun to watch a flair bartender flip bottles behind his back, all it really takes to make a great drink are a few ingredients poured in equal parts. Then all you have to do is Shake, Stir, Sip.
