Abbott’s Custard celebrating 10 years

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (https://wbznewsradio.iheart.com/) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

I know it may not be the time of year when everyone is thinking about ice cream, but as we recently talked about Frenchie celebrating one year in the South End, I started thinking about other fave places that have reason to celebrate this year and I ended up (as I so often do) at Abbott’s custard in Needham and Brighton.

Though I have enjoyed Abbot’s in Needham for five years, it apparently predated me by another five and so is preparing to celebrate a decade downtown.

Even if there were other cool dessert places in the area, Abbot’s would surely stand apart as much as their creamy custard and creative serving styles (which include a chocolate-dipped, Spanish peanut, rolled pop and amazing custom cakes, like we had for my daughters own birthday) do. But as both Lizzie’s and Orange Leaf are both sweet memories, it is all the more important and wonderful to have Abbott’s around. It is so good, in fact, that I often meet people who came from much further afield to enjoy the rich flavors again and again.

So even when the weather outside is colder than anything you would ever put inside your body, take a trip to Abbott’s and see what 10 years of scooping can do.
