The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
Just as their technologies have made an oasis in the desert and a leader in many fields, Israel is now producing some of the best wines around – emes!
Gone are the days of syrupy stuff that you had to choke down to feel the pain of the ancient Hebrews. Today’s kosher wines are winning awards in Jewish and general wine competitions around the world.
Among the best of the bunch are Covenant Wines. Made by a California native who now calls the Jewish state home (and who also happens to be a former writer for Wine Spectator), Covenant wines are not only great for readers of that esteemed publication but for everyday drinkers and Rosh Hashanah revelers as well.
Though their Red C varietal might be thought to be more appropriate for Passover, it too crosses over to serve for religious or regular meals. Similarly, the Covenant Chardonnay combines California ingredients with Israeli ingenuity to make a wine that is vivid and beautifully structured.
So the next time you have the miscpuchahover for dinner, or whenever you want a fine bottle that answers to a higher authority, make an agreement to try Covenant.
