My favorite downtown spot – BONAPITA – recently opened a second location at 75 Spring Street in West Roxbury near the Star Market.

This time, there are further expansions to discuss, as chef-owner (and all-around mensch) Ilan Barniv has added more items to his West Roxbury’s location menu, including a thoughtful kids menu and a deconstructed baba ghanoush that consists of a whole roasted eggplant with Barniv’s signature spices.

Also new at the West Roxbury location are two vegetarian protein options – BONAPITA’s famed black bean and beet patties and Sabich, which is made from roasted eggplant and egg.
