The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

As a food and beverage critic, I review a lot of interesting combinations. Recently, I got wind of a new combo of kombucha and booze that quickly dismissed my distaste for the “hard” beverages category.

A friend had dropped by a sampling of Flying Embers kombuchas and, after a particularly hard back and biceps workout, I decided to give one a try. Thirsty from the exercise, I cracked open a can and began to chug. It was only when I was halfway through the can (in one delicious gulp, I will say) that I noticed the word “hard” on the label. A bit dizzy but undaunted, I eagerly finished the can and enjoyed the results.

While I do not recommend chugging alcohol after exercise, the flavor and refreshment of Flying Embers make such practices tempting. And with flavors that range fromancient berry, black cherry, and lemon orchard to the alluringly different grapefruit thyme, pineapple chili, and ginger and oak, these dry-fermented, keto- and vegan-friendly, and gluten-free drinks with live cultures, probiotics and adaptogens are a temptation almost anytime.

Also, while they refresh those who imbibe them, Flying Embers kombuchas also help revive and support firefighters and first responders by donating a percentage of proceeds to those who help keep their namesakes under control.

So the next time you want to see how good the “hard” version of a favorite drink can be, light into a Flying Embers.
