As Matt’s Meals fans know, one of my favorite places for delicious food and innovative ideas is Boston Public Market.
As people may also know, when I am not talking about food, I am talking with authors from all over the world on my nationally syndicated television program, “The Writer’s Block” (which is soon to be expanded into an international podcast on the Something or Other Publishing Network.
I have recently been invited to combine these two passions through a series of cookbook author talks at the Market!
On September 11, I will be talking with BPM’s Shannon Villeaux and Gina Cassara about the collection of seasonal favorites that they put together with their talented vendors, using only what is freshest in ingredients and ideas.
On October 23, I will be talking with therapist-turned-caterer (and long-time Matt’s Meals friend) Jeanie Gruber about the new book she recently published to support WISHDISH, the nonprofit she runs that elicits recipe ideas and the personal stories behind them from unhoused individuals in Boston, New Orleans, and elsewhere and then provides them with their favorite foods and a sense of dignity and comfort that few other people could offer. A third talk is scheduled for November 13 and I hope to offer more next year as well!
As I love supporting independent food makers and organizations that support the underserved, I am very excited about these talks and hope that all of our fans will join me in supporting BPM, their vendors, and the many other community members who dedicate themselves to supporting the community through food.
If you know any cookbook authors of food-related nonprofits, please reach out so I can support them as well.
As usual, I will see you at the Market!
