DIGGING for GOOD BOOKS

I have raved about the combined coffee house and art gallery called Galaray House in Lexington, but now I have even MORE reason to rave!

On Wednesday, December 10, at 7 PM, I will be starting what I hope to be a series of live author talks with an interview with Wellesley College Professor Cécile Ganne, author of the romantic novella, Scent of a Truffle.

As she is not only a professor and writer but also a painter and visual artist and contemplative workshop facilitator, Ganne is the perfect person with whom to start this series. And as we are all looking for great books to give as holiday gifts, this will surely be a worthwhile event for people from all over!

As the title suggests, Scent of a Truffle (which is a finalist for The Readable Feast book of the year!) is about food, but it more about the sense of terroir that is so important in France and the sense of place that Ganne strives to cultivate even when she is away from her native land. It is a multi-sensory journey through community that encourages readers to be mindful of all they have and to enjoy each moment like a delicious meal or sip of wine.

Speaking of food and wine, guests will also be invited to enjoy curated selections, including Malbec’s from Ganne’s home region. There will also be offerings from Hi-Rise Bakery in Cambridge, Little Wolf Coffee in Ipswich, and teas from our friend Lisa Marie at J‘enwey Tea.

At the event, I will talk with Ganne about the book and how it came to be, as well as about her French roots and what she brings to our community.

I hope that you can all be part of the community at this special event!
