MORE AND CLOSE

I was recently at my favorite independent bookstore – Blue Bunny in Dedham Square – and, lo and behold, there was a sign in the window proudly proclaiming that my book – Lions, Tigers, and…Bulldogs? – was for sale!

I was so excited that I ran across the street to one of my favorite farm-to-table eateries – Few and Far – to celebrate!

When I got there, I realized that, even though I have long loved the dinners at their venues (and its sister, Forage in Cambridge) and the carefully-curated collection at Satellite Bottle Shop, Few and Far had recently added brunch on weekends from 10:30-2.

And WHAT a brunch!

From an omelette set that ranges from broccolini to house-made sausages to creative takes on such classic culinary combos as steak and eggs and chicken and waffles (topped with fried eggs so you can truly see which goes first) to a scrambled egg pizza that is on the kids menu but that I will surely ask for next time I go, the F&F brunch has something for every taste (and apparently age)!

If you want more “lunch-y” fare, the roast pork sandwich and brisket-based F&F burger with caramelized onion jam and fondue should fit the bill.

No matter what you order first, be sure to save room for an order of beignets with dulce de leche and some baked apples with candied Hibiscus.

Thanks in great part to the great picks they have at Satellite next door, the beverage list for the new brunch is especially special as well and also features items with or without alcohol that are sure to slake and satisfy while you ease into your Saturday or Sunday.

Speaking of Sundays, Few and Far still hosts its popular Sunday dinners and Wednesday wine events, but now there is more to enjoy more of the time.Be sure to pick up a book (perhaps mine!) when you are in the area and enjoy all that the area has to offer!
