While I am not sure why a major league baseball team needs an official alcoholic beverage, with the way the Sox have been punching up these days, far be it from me to question their tactics!
Yes- It’s official! Gray Whale Gin is now the official gin of the Boston Red Sox.
While I’d think that they would look more locally for another alcoholic parent (as they had with Sam Adams), this is surely a Whale of a choice!
Crafted with sustainably sourced and wild-harvested botanicals (including juniper from Big Sur, mint from Santa Cruz, fir trees from Sonoma, and even kelp from the Mendocino coast) and inspired by the migratory path of its majestic namesake, Gray Whale has been capturing awards and donating proceeds to environmental causes on both coasts and everywhere in between.
As it is a product of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits (who also make such popular potables as Hob Nob, Josh, and Yellow Tail wines and Redemption whiskey), the quality is evident, as fans will surely notice in every sip!
To celebrate the partnership, Sox fans can enjoy a new drink on the concourse called the Gray Monster that combines Gray Whale with grapefruit soda and lemon juice for a refreshing drink that will surely get fans through any dips in team performance.
So even if the team once got in trouble for imbibing in the locker room, it seems they now have their collective heads in the right place and so can perhaps be given a little leeway.
When the drink is this delicious and the team is doing this well, it’s hard to argue!
