Fall @ Belkin Family Lookout Farm

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Belkin Family Lookout Farm

It is back to school time, which in this region also means it is time to grab the family and friends and head to Belkin Family Lookout Farm for apple picking, pumpkin picking, and, for the older pickers, cider tasting!

In addition to having one of the area’s most established and largest farms, complete with live animals, a playground, hedge maze, train and hay rides, and more, Lookout Farm continues to add to their impressive list of offerings by introducing new varieties of fruit every season. And with those fruits come more ingredients for their excellent ciders.

In addition to such recent ravers as First American Cherry and the sharp Mac the Knife, Lookout Farm recently introduced Pumpkin Patch, a smooth and warming hard cider that goes great with their delicious flatbreads and creamy mustard-dipped pretzels. For those who want to see the juice go into the fermentation tanks, Lookout Farm offers cider house tours at 2 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. For those who wish to just kick back, they also offer live music select evenings and always have plenty of four packs to take home after a long day in the orchards.

So whether you have a family tradition of pick-your-own or want a fun place to hang with family and friends, Belkin Family Lookout Farm is a refreshingly different option for picky people of all ages.

While Brookline’s Harvard Street is known for a wide array of impressive ethnic eateries – from the Kosher Mecca of Rubin’s and the Kosher-style legend of Michael’s to the authentic Mexican flavor of Anna’s Taqueria, the savoir faire of Paris Creperie and the non-faux Vietnamese of Pho Lemon Grass to the sports bar with a BIG difference known as the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse and the upscale American class of Lineage and on and on – none combine so many flavors and tastes with so much passion as Brother’s Restaurant (www.brothers-restaurant.com)

As summer returns to Boston, many eyes turn towards the sea. And while the view may be more and more blocked by more and more development, there are still some standards that seem to have always been. One of these is the Barking Crab, a local spot for seafood and nightlife that has been a seaside staple since 1994.
