Chubby Chickpea has joined forces with Dorchester Brewing Co. (through March, 2018)

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

It seems like a bit since we sang the praises for food truck phenom Avi Shemtov. Since last we left our hero and his Israeli-inspired (and we mean “inspired”) truck lovingly known as the Chubby Chickpea, Avi opened the Tapped Beer Truck and now makes delicious deliveries of both the food and beverage kind all over the area.

As Avi is so in tune with the beer world it makes sense that he would bring his famed shakshuka brunch to Boston’s own Dorchester Brewing Co. Through the end of March, Avi will roll the Chickpea to 1250 Mass Ave on most Sundays from noon to 3 so that more people can experience his Middle Eastern mastery while enjoying great local beers that complement his shakshuka, braised lamb belly hash with smoked potatoes and truffle-roasted garlic, fried challah French toast stuffed with prickly pear and labneh cheese, and fava bean ful with hard-boiled eggs and sumac-roasted onion.

As he was one of the first to serve shakshuka in the area (especially on a truck), Shemtov (who has actually penned a popular cookbook as well), has it down cold, but not as cold as Dorchester’s many refreshing beers. So next time you want a satisfying meal with a satisfying follow, head over to Dot and check out the chickpea.
