Thanks for listening and thanks for supporting our friends and neighbors in the food-service industry!
One of the things I love most about doing these spots (other than working with you, Jordan) is the opportunities I have had not just to try amazing food and drink but to make real relationships and even friendships with the people who produce them. Especially during challenging times, I am also encouraged by the sense of camaraderie that permeates the food space.
We recently talked about Lark Fine Foods and their wonderful Self-isolation Kits that are available at www.larkfinefoods.com. In appreciation for the mention, Lark’s CEO, Elaine Peterson, sent me cheese from Jasper Hill Farm in VT, which also happens to be one of the cheese companies in the VT Cheese Council, which we also recently touted as an amazing local food team.
To say the cheese was delicious would be an understatement! Crafted in VT’s famed Northeast Kingdom and cave ripened in their own underground vaults, Jasper Hill cheeses are as fresh and delicious as cheese can be and can be sent nearly anywhere in a responsible and impressively-designed box that is great for gifts or just to enjoy with your own family while you shelter in place. They also offer their own fun gift boxes like the New Kids on the Block (which highlights newer cheeses from partner farms) and the Wurst Kase Scenario (which combines an assortment of cheeses and locally-sourced meats and even a 5” iron skillet!), all of which can be ordered at www.jasperhillfarm.com.
Good goes around. So why not start the line by ordering from these or many other local sources. You will surely feel good and enjoy every bite!
