The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Greek International Food Market

Just a few blocks off the VFW Parkway on Washington Street in West Roxbury is a store unlike any other in the region. Step into the Greek International Food Market and it is as if you had stepped into pre-economic meltdown Greece!

From handmade Greek yogurt (the REAL kind- not Yoplait!) and an entire bar of fresh fetas and “yellow” cheeses, not to mention enough olives to make the world’s dirtiest (and healthiest) martini, the Market has everything from the gourmet to the everyday and the family that owns is more than happy to literally take you by the hand and show you around.

As the Mediterranean diet is so popular (and rightfully so) and as the food is so delicious, it can be difficult to choose what to get, Fortunately, tastings are recommended for pretty much everything, including the many single-batch olive oils and honeys (including Oprah’s favorite) and the fresh-baked authentic Greek pastries.

The Market also has the area’s largest selection of Greek wines, most of which are just as delicious as those from other EU members at a much lower price that invites trying them out and buying them by the case.

They also offer sandwiches, soups and salads, for those who want the flavor without the fuss, but their website offers authentic recipes that are easy to follow and delicious every time.
