New Bagel Place coming to Newton (Originally posted 12/15)

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Bagel Place

From Bagel’s Best to Bruegger’s, Café Fresh Bagel to Finagle’s, and Kupel’s to Rosenfeld’s, the Brookline-Newton corridor is known for its wealth of great bagel bakers. Recently, a new contender has entered the flavorful fray.

Based in VT the Bagel Place has opened on Needham Street in Newton. A family-owned and operated business, the Place looks as rustic and handmade as the bagels taste. With 20 fresh-baked flavors that range from blueberry and cheddar dill to Jalepeno, Montreal spice and – on weekends – marzipan (as well as more traditional options such as plain, sesame, onion, garlic, and everything), the Bagel Place also offers a baker’s dozen of cream cheese varieties, including roasted artichoke and Mexican.

For those who want more than a shmear, the Bagel Place offers breakfast sandwiches, deli and hot sandwiches, and even their specialty sandwiches, such as chicken guac and a smoked Atlantic salmon lox that is worth swimming upstream on Needham Street for!

So even if you think you have your favorite, try the Bagel Place. It may become your new place for bagels and more!
