Matt records segments for Jordan Rich’s “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
Café Madeleine
Going back to the days of the American Revolution, the connections between Boston and France have always been strong. While this is evident in art and architecture, it is also made plain through food. For the past year, Café Medeleine has been leading the cause of liberte, fraternite, and deliciousite.
From croissants, pastries, macarons, and the patisserie’s “signature” chocolate cake, to soups, salads, and sandwiches, Madeleine brings the sweet and savory flavors of France to Boston and beyond.
In addition to celebrating its first anniversary in Boston, Café Madeleine is also feting Pastry Chef and General Manager Hana Quon on her being elected by Zagat Boston as one of the city’s “30 Under 30.” This means that the young restaurateur is among the industry’s most important and progressive people. While many are already aware of the amazing delicacies that emerge from Quon’s kitchen, and that founder Frederic Robert received the James Beard award in 2007, this latest achievement will surely bring more people by 517 Columbus Avenue to watch Quon and her talented team in Madeleine’s open show kitchen create hand-made masterpieces from scratch seven days a week.
