Matt records segments for Jordan Rich’s “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
Café Med
The Greek economic crisis sent many people looking to escape. Fortunately, Athens’ loss is now Boston’s gain, as renowned Greek chef George Panagopoulos has landed at 31 St. James Avenue in a the kitschy kitchen known as Café Med and has brought all of his healthy Hellenistic recipes with hm.
Combining authentic Athens flavors with city convenience and suburban prices, Café Med is a delicious place to take a break from your day or your lunch routine. From chicken at two spice levels to Greek burgers made with beef and lamb to Greek hotdogs served in pita with Feta cheese and fries and Chef George’s family recipe for tzatziki yogurt sauce to real lettuce-less Greek salad and real skewer-cooked Souvlaki, Café Med packs a lot of flavor into a tiny spot that swells with satisfied customers at lunchtime (so try to come early). On Fridays, Chef George offers a large slice of his famed baklava free with any sandwich purchase, but any day is a good day to go Greek at Café Med.
