Get your kicks on Rte 110

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

When I was growing up in Westford, the best place around to eat was (and by many judgments still is) Kimball’s Ice cream. Otherwise we had a lot of smaller places that came and went. And while I may miss some in terms of childhood nostalgia, I realize that the food was not so memorable.

That is why I was so pleasantly surprised to find the 110 Grill in Chelmsford!

The design is hip yet comfortable, with a perfect mix of downtown flair and suburban subtlety and warmth. The menu is chock full of locally-sourced and artfully-presented dishes that range from an amazing firecracker shrimp and tasty fried pickle chips with Sriracha aioli to a gorgeous sesame ginger salmon that bursts with flavor and a smothered Reuben that, like 90% of the menu, can be presented sans gluten. There is even a chocolate cake that is gluten free (though you’d never guess it!), as well as a peanut butter sundae that is worth the trip by itself or paired with any of their clever cocktails or flavored coffees. Speaking of trip, the Grill also has spots in Berlin, MA and Nashua, NH and more are coming to Hopkinton and Wayland. So even if you live off Route 110, you can access this night out-worthy eatery without spending so much time fighting traffic to get there.
