Los Amigos Burritos

As a father of twins, it is a nice break to be able to sit and enjoy a fine meal.

Most of the time, however, I am on a grab and go schedule.

How great is it, then, to find a place where the service is fast but the food is worth slowing down for?

Los Amigos Taqueria is a small locally-sourced chain of eateries created and carefully tended by recent Babson grad Dan Ustayev. Using only the freshest produce and meats that have never even heard of antibiotics or hormones, Dan and his compadres have put together a menu of options that is as fresh and fun as it is flavorful. While suggested specialty burrito combinations like the surf and turf (with grilled steak and shrimp and their signature smoky chipotle crema), the veggie special (loaded with sautéed zucchini, squash, peppers, onions and Los Amigos’ cilantro-lime rice), the popular coconut shrimp burrito, or any one of a side set of fish tacos, a la carte options that range from baby spinach and pickled onion to plantains and an amazing eggplant salsa and that can be stuffed in burritos, quesadlillas, carb-counter-friendly bowls or salads make the choosing almost enjoyable as the eating. No matter what you order, be sure to save room for their nutella and plantain quesadilla and a big cup of delicious, vegan horchata.

With locations in West Roxbury, Newtonville and Brookline (with more in the works), Los Amigos is easy to reach and well worth the trip!
