The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
Dumpling Palace
I am a big fan of the Jewish dumpling known as kreplach but had never really ventured far into the Asian version of the doughy delight until recently.
Fortunately, it appears that I started off with one of the best when I happened upon Chef Peter Wang’s Dumpling Palace’s location on Mass Ave near Symphony Hall.
Though they also have Palaces in Chinatown and most recently in Allston, their head dumpling chef is on hand here to handle the heavy traffic that comes from Berklee and from people heading to concerts and theatre nearby.
The dumplings are hot, fresh and bursting with flavor. The fillings that range from parsley and other fresh greens to perfectly-cooked beef, pork, and shrimp work well with the plain and flavored noodle casings, making for a mouth-filling treat that is worth savoring over the course of at least a few bites.
In addition to the dumplings, the Palace also offers a slew of soups and entire side menus of fried rice and noodle dishes. The servings are available in individual sizes or in specially-priced combination meals that can include any of over 50 delicious options. So even if you are not a dumpling fan (or not yet), the Palace has something yummy for you as well.
