Flour Bakery opening in Cambridgeport

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Flour Bakery

For years, Harvard-trained marketing consultant-turned-chef Joanne Chang has been one of the most modest mega cooks on the Boston scene. As the co-founder of the still great Myers and Chang (which is headed by certified “Top Chef” Karen Akunowicz), this award-wining cook and cookbook author has been spreading her fresh-baked joy and her “eat dessert first’ mentality for over 15 years through the ever-expanding empire of Flour bakeries.

On December 5, the latest outpost will open as Cambridgeport welcomes a new Flour at 40 Erie Street to complement the wildly popular ones in Harvard and Central Squares. These will join locations in Fort Point, The South End, and Back Bay.

As Chang’s long-time fans know, Flour offers not just the freshest and most creative baked goods around, but also daily quiches, salads, and grilled sandwiches, all of which are bursting with local bounty and Chang’s signature flavor. To wash it al down, Flour pours Mem Tea and Fazenda coffee drinks. (many of which feature Tcho chocolate).

So whether you want a morning muffin or a take home cake for two (or more), it is now easier than ever to get up to your elbows in Flour.
