Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
With the fall of Rubin’s and the rise of Mamaleh’s and the consistent mastery of Michael’s Deli, the local deli and Jewish food scene is changing. What has not changed, however, is the appeal of these traditional tastes and our clever chefs’ contemporary variations.
Perhaps this is why Beyond Bubbie’s Kitchen is growing in popularity every year!
This year, the Jewish food-themed event organized by Jewish Arts Boston will take place at the Back Bay Events Center on February 26 at 5:30. Taking a special look at Sephardic food from the Iberian peninsula and Mediterranean, the event will expand its scope beyond the deli counter as well. In addition to Michael’s and Mamaleh’s (who are reason enough to go on their own!), the event will also feature such other Connoisseurs Corner favorites as Avi Shemtov from the Chubby Chickpea foodtruck, Inna from Inna’s Kitchen in Newton and Boston Public Market, William Kovell from Catalyst (and the recently-opened Catalyst Café) and Josh Ziskin from La Morra and Heritage of Sherborn. It will surely be a meshugeneh mix of meals, but one that is sure to please even the most demanding Bubbie.
So whether you like your corned beef with extra schmaltz or just some lentils with your rice, Beyond Bubbie’s Kitchen will have much gut esnvarg to enjoy!
