Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
Though some of us are still recovering from the holidays, February vacation week will soon be upon us. For many parents, the week of President’s Day brings up one question- What do we do with the kids?
While the library and Boston’s bevy of marvelous museums may provide a few day’s worth of satisfaction, many parents and kids will end up back at home before too long.
Fortunately, our friends at Boston Public Market have come up with an idea that encourages kids to get messy in the kitchen without the parents having to clean up!
Starting on February 20 at 10 AM, the Market will host three weekday morning versions of their popular Kids in the Kitchen program (which is usually hosted on Saturday mornings). In addition to learning how to cook, the 6-10-year-old master chefs-in-the-making will also discuss where the ingredients come from and why it is important to choose them so carefully, as the people at the Market all do. They will also be encouraged to bring their learning home and to encourage others to make better food choices every day.
So if you need to get away but want to give something back, take the kids to the Boston Public Market where they can learn about food while you treat yourself to some of the freshest flavors around.
