With the rise of Shed’s in Downtown Crossing and the continued mastery of Andy Husband’s at Smoke Shop in Kendall Square, the Boston-area barbecue scene appears to be making a comeback.

So that is why I am more psyched than ever for the annual ‘cue fest that is Boston Magazine’s Cue, which will take place this year on August 15 at the Cruiseport in South Boston.

In addition to taking And’s lead with the menu, chefs from al over the area will also be joining him in supporting Share Our Strength, which helps those who cannot afford to enjoy Boston’s bounty as much as we may be able to. In addition to great barbecue from Smoke Shop, Sweet Cheeks, and even Legal Sea Foods and our other fave Michael’s Deli (BBQ knishes Y’all- it’s a thing!), there will also be great drinks from Capo, Koy, and our friends at Blue Fire Coffee.

So even if you do not know a brisket from a shank, the Cue will have you covered…in sauce.
