Street Food Revolution

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ AM 1030 (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Since Moksa left Central Square, I have been looking for a new place to get great Asian street food.

Fortunately, I have found the appropriately-named Street Food Revolution.

Created by newlyweds who came to Boston for school and stayed for the food, SFR is truly a revolution in Chinese flavor and flair. In addition to such dependable delights as their imminently sharable build-your-own bowls (which can contain anything from beef and fish to tofu and tripe), they also offer such off-the-beaten path treats as fried chicken cartilage, fire-grilled cumin and garlic eggplant, red cooked pork ear, and other unique offerings that are sure to get you beating a path to them ASAP. Once there, guests are treated not only to the amazing food but to an edible education that bridges tastes and cultures.

The menu is overseen by Chinese native Chef Bo Chen, who is also the executive chef at Tibet Hotel in Chengdu and the founder of the Soul of Taste cooking school. While he lives most of the year in China, Chef Chen visits often to make sure his talented team are making him and his home culture proud.

Designed to attract the many students and others who come from China to Boston each year, SFR (which is conveniently located on the restaurant rich Harvard Ave in Allston) has also been attracting other fans for almost a full year and look ready to continue the revolution for many delicious days to come.

So whether you are a homesick native of an adventurous local, the Revolution many not be televised, but it can be eaten!
