Café Med gets new Greek Chef

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (https://wbznewsradio.iheart.com/) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

From Doretta Taverna and Farm Grill to Porto and Saloniki to Bona Pita and Café Landwer, the rising tide in Boston seems to be Mediterranean, with a particular focus on Greece. So it stands to reason that one of the originals – Café Med – would bring in a new chef who was more Greek than at least some of her counterparts.

Greek import Marina Voutsa most recently helmed the ovens at Kava in the South End, where she was known for her signature Baklava and other authentic Greek specialties. At Café Med, Chef Voutsa is bringing her signature family recipes for such Hellenistic hits as lamb with orzo, Pastitsio (pasta with ground beef and Bechamel sauce), Moussaka with eggplant, potatoes, and Bechamel, and traditional Greek island meatballs known as Soutzoukakia.

As Café Med is a casual counter-based eatery, it is a great place to Greek out when you are working downtown or looking for something low-key and family-friendly.

So come say “Yassas” to Chef Voutsa and see what the Greek tides have brought in.
