“FOOD- What the heck should I eat?” by Dr. Mark Hyman

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (https://wbznewsradio.iheart.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

As a food writer and fan, I am often put at the mercy of talented chefs and so am not always in control of my own dietary destiny, That is why I am so conscious of what I eat when I am on my own.

As we all know, however, the world of nutrition can be confusing if not overwhelming. With fad diets and new products coming out all the time (many of which we have featured here), it can be hard to make the vital decisions we need to each day.
That is why I am loving and appreciating the latest book by common sense food expert Dr. Mark Hyman, Director of the Cleveland Clinic for Functional Medicine . It is simply called “Food” with a subtitle of “What the heck should I eat?” As this is the topic and the question that are most important to so many like myself, this is a great guide!

In addition to looking at the values and perils of each food group and type and explaining and dispelling myths about many popular diets, Dr. Hyman offers a middle-of-the-road plan that takes the best from most of them and that is completely doable for anyone.

The book is easy to read, pick through, and put to use right away, without sacrificing too much time or any flavor or enjoyment of life. And, after all, isn’t that what food is all about?
