The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

We have spent many minutes raving about the local beverage bounty we enjoy here in New England. It seems that every time we get together, I have a new favorite beer, cider, wine, etc.

On October 12, the Sustainable Business Network of MA (www.sbnmass.org) is bringing together a bunch of old, new, and soon-to-be favorites at their third Local Craft Spirits Festival, which will be held at 60 Lansdowne Street on the MIT campus in Cambridge from 6-9:30 PM.

At the event, over 30 vendors will pour more than 100 products, including beer, wine, cider, mead, and spirits. There will also be local food purveyors and musical performers as well! Each ticket allows guests to enjoy up to 20 pours from our friends at AstraLuna, Bully Boy, GrandTen, Privateer, Sebago Lake Distillery, Sumptuous Syrups, Vermont Distillers, Willie’s Superbrew, and many more!

In addition to enjoying their wares, guests will be invited to meet and talk with the creators of the craft beverages so they can appreciate not only the diverse flavors but also the hard work that goes into each sip. There will also be competitions to see who can put the bottles to best use.

While the local food, drink, and music are sure to make you feel good, you can feel even better knowing that proceeds from ticket sales help sustain local food and drink makers and the other small businesses that make our region so strong.

So grab a friend and grab a glass and come party with the SBN!
