The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

Boston’s Union Street has some of the most historic pubs and drinkeries in the nation.

Thanks to Sons of Boston, it finally has some food to go with it!

With a kitchen helmed by former Locke Ober menu master Kat McCoart and management that features Tim Moynihan of Sonsie fame, Sons is a good place to stop along the Freedom Trail, before or after a game at the Gahden, or anytime!

In addition to taking inspiration from Boston’s many menu traditions, SOB also takes ingredients from the Boston Public Market and Haymarket next door, making sure everything is as fresh and flavorful as can be. From clam doughnuts, fried cheese curds, a sort rib “bomb,” signature burger and make-your-on mac and cheese mini menu to a massive handmade ice cream sandwich and a fried Boston cream donut that is an amazing take on our state dessert, the menu offers plenty for every taste and a respectable menu for the younger Sons and daughters that features favorites of the management team’s own children.

In addition to their signature spiced rum (which is made by Boston’s own Grand Ten Distillers), Sons’ bar is stocked with many beers and ales, wines, and other drinkable delights, all of which make it a great place to drop by after work with friends or when trying to make new ones.

So if you think that Union Street is just for tourists looking to get a taste of Boston’s rich history, drop by Sons of Boston and see why the locals love it too!
