The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

While his team may not have done so well, Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda will not be found crying in his beer.

Why not?

Because he makes his own wine!

Though the line up may be not quite as deep as the Dodgers, Lasorda’s Monterey Chardonnay and Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon offer a range of flavors that go well with a wide range of foods and are well suited for special events, including toasting the second-best team in baseball.

The Chardonnay is fermented in neutral French oak to allow flavors of lily, lemon grass and fresh citrus emerge and has a pleasant touch of honeydew melon and Asian pear. The full-bodied Cab opens with classic black currant, dark chocolate, raspberry and cedar, as well as toasty oak, cassis and hints of boysenberry, and offers a satisfying finish that might have outlasted game 4.

So even if his managing days are behind him, let it not be said that Tommy’s best days are behind him. Having been raised by a father with roots in the Italian wine regions Lasorda also ran a restaurant for many years with his brothers and knows how way through a good bottle. And at least with his wines, he knows his team will always sport a great set of legs and finish strong!
