The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
Usually, we rave about places in the Boston area, but there is another great food scene to the north that is making waves and making inroads as well – Portland, ME.
We recently notified our listeners about Eventide coming from Portland to Boston. Now, another great Maine-stay is making its mark in our area.
Having already made a splash in Central Square, Mainely Burgers is opening in Boston Landing, right near Flatbread Pizza, the Celtics and the Bruins.
Owned and operated students at Babson (where they brainstormed with Andrew Zimmern), Mainely started as a food truck that quickly became part of Portland’s burgeoning food scene. A few “Best of” awards later, they opened a full store in Cambridge and the rest is juicy, hand-packed history.
From fresh ground chuck to handmade veggie burgers and house-marinated chicken breasts, Mainely Burgers come with such tasty toppings as spicy Thai mayo, fried egg, and their famed house sauce and are available without buns or with a gluten-free bun. No matter what combo you order, the burger is sure to be fresh and delicious and give a sense of what Portland has to offer.
