The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
As the home of many of the world’s largest publishers and universities, Boston has long been a bastion for readers and intellectuals. More recently, the Hub has made its mark on the world food scene. As the home of he American Revolution and the first African-American Civil War battalion, we have always treasured our veterans as well.
On January 27, all of these noble groups will come together for the Winter fundraiser for Chefs Table Foundation- a non-profit organization that provides educational cooking shows and culinary scholarships to underprivileged veterans and young adults.
The Bubbly and Books event will take place January 27 at MIT’s beautiful Endicott House in Dedham and will feature local news and mystery writing superstar Hank Phillippi Ryan and her fellow award-winning author Anne Barry Jolles.
While Ryan may be best known for her Emmy-winning work as an investigative reporter for WHDH TV, she is also a lauded mystery writer who investigates murder and mayhem in her many popular novels. Joles is a well-known life coach and TED talker and the creator of Grace Trail, a card-based program that encourages users to emphasize gratitude in their own lives and those of others.
At the event, guests will be invited to dine and toast the dynamic duo while learning more about their works and about Chef’s Table and helping support its important programs.
So start the year with a bit of mystery, a bit of encouragement, and a lot of support for neighbors in need at the 2019 Chefs Table Foundation fundraiser. It is stuee to leave you feeling bubbly too!
Perhaps that is why the Boston Wine Festival – which runs this year at the Hotel from January 11 through the end of March – is America’s longest continuing event series of its kind and why it just keeps getting better each year!
Though the Grand Opening reception is already sold out, there are still plenty of great events to enjoy, including the Meritage Madness dinner January 25, the rising stars dinner February 8, the popular all-champagne Valentines’ dinner dance February 16, and, on February 15, the Uncorked for a Cause fundraiser for Share Our Strength, who continues to work creatively with the culinary community to help those in need. This black-tie optional event will be hosted by design diva Taniya Nayak and will offer not only great food and wine, but opportunities to go home with wine and to give even more to this vital organization.
So while all your friends run around the Seaport looking for parking, puil up to the Boston Harbor Hotel for any one of many magical evenings.
