The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
While I enjoy and talk about wine from all over the world, I always have a special place in my heart (and my wine cellar) for bottles from local vintners.
That is why I am so excited for the 4thannual Crush Wine Festival which will take place at Lombardo’s in Randolph on Sunday, July 14.
Hosted by the Massachusetts Farm Wineries and Growers Association, the Crush Festival features over 75 award-winning wines from across the Commonwealth, as well as locally-sourced cheeses, chocolates, and even ciders!
Among the scheduled participants areFirst Crush Winery from Harwich, La Cantina Winery in Franklin, Richmond’s Balderdash Cellars, Westport Rivers Winery from Westport, Haverhill’s Willow Spring Vineyards, Cape Cod classics First Crush and Truro Vineyards, Ipswich’s 1634 Meadery, and Aaronap Cellars from my hometown of Westford
Many of the winemakers will be on hand to guide you through their selections and to help you find new favorites.
Tickets range from $15-40 and all admissions include a wine bag and glass and free parking.
So if you think that great wine can only come from the West Coast or overseas, treat yourself to a night of wining and dining with friends and neighbors at Crush and fine a new local wine to crush on.
