Southern Proper has a cure for congestion

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ Saturdays and Sundays at 9:25 AM and 3:25 PM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

To the surprise of nobody, Boston was recently honored with the designation of having the worst rush hour traffic in the nation. And while audiobooks and applying makeup while taking on the phone and drinking coffee can help pass a bit of the time, many commuters are looking for better options.

Fortunately, our friends at Southern Proper have found a way to bring some Southern hospitality and easygoing-ness to the uptight north.

Chef/Owner Jason Cheek recently introduced “Crush Hour.” From 5-7 PM on weekdays, guests can pull over for an Uber-delicious menu that is sure to LYFT their spirits without taxi-ng their budgets.

Among the menu of $1 to $5 Dixieland delights are deviled eggs, hush puppies, Nashville wings, candied pecans, pimento popovers, and Chef’s signature chicken sandwich. There is also a new gluten-free chicken sandwich and many more gluten-free options. And every Confederate favorite is available just minutes (hopefully) from the Expressway on Harrison Avenue.

So the next time you are being part of the sad statistic, break away for a mouthful of South at Southern Proper.
