The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

There’s a lot of hype around the gluten-free diet, and unfortunately, bread has gotten a bad rap as a result. But when that bread is as tasty as the folks at Swissbäkers make it, it’s hard to resist.

On August 2 and September 15 and 22, Swissbäkers owners and head bakers –  Thomas and Helene – will offer baking classes at The KITCHEN at Boston Public Market. At each of these hands-on two-hour workshops, guests will be put in small groups to learn how to create and appreciate traditional Swiss breads, including the Zopf Bread (braided sweet bread) and the classic croissant. Led by Swissbäkers experts, attendees will measure ingredients, knead and shape dough, and, of course, learn the perfect techniques for proper baking. The talented team from Swissbäkers will even teach attendees to make fresh butter from scratch using cream from BPM neighbor Appleton Farms.

For those who prefer their carbs a bit flatter, The KITCHEN is also offering a NEW class with Bon Appetit Creperie. The French Crêpes Workshops are scheduled for July 28, August 4 and September 15. The KITCHEN has also debuted a family-focused version of Chef Avery’s popular Law of Pasta Workshop allowing folks of all ages to learn the art of pasta-making. Pasta classes offered on Saturday mornings.
