The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
For many years, I have been touting the Boston Chocolate Tour as the best way to see what Boston’s role in the world of chocolate has been and to taste some of the best around. And while I recently touted the revolutionary chocolate at Captain Jackson’s near the Old North Church, there is no better place to try not only some of the best chocolate around Boston but around the world all in one place as the New England Chocolate Festival which will take place at the BCA Cyclorama in the South End on October 12.
For eight full hours, chocoholics can get together to taste, compare, and enjoy wonderful wares from nearly 40 hand-selected chocolate and pastry vendors, including local legends like Beth’s Chocolate from Newton, Boston’s Vivra Chocolate, Boxborough’s Two Friends, and Worcester’s Choko Spice, as well as visiting dignitaries from featured friends in the Dominican Republic and Quebec. It will surely be something to souviens!
In addition to the cacao kiosks, there will also be master chocolatiers demonstrating their craft and a multi-media chocolate sensorium that will take the flavor to your other senses and take chocolate fans to new heights!
Though the event is centered in Boston, it will also feature classes and events in other New England states (as befits its name), as well as a Choctoberfest that will pair chocolate with beer.
So if you dream of traveling the world or even taking a trolley around town to find the best chocolate, save your steps and focus your efforts on the Cyclorama October 12. There will surely be no sweeter place to be!
