The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
Many great new and familiar eateries call the historic city of Quincy home. But what good is a great meal without an amazing dessert?
Recently, the experienced chocolate masters at Purefections moved their sweet operation from a mile outside of this historically up-and-coming town to just across the street from the famed Church of the Presidents in Quincy Center.
Using pure Belgian chocolate, Purefections’ signature creations include the P2C2that combines chocolate, caramel, peanut butter and, potato chips (trust me- you NEED to try it!) and the gigantic turtles known (appropriately enough) as the Lager Tartarugas, each of which is kissed (also appropriately enough) with Sam Adams Boston Lager. They have recently released a line of chocolate-dipped Oreos decorated with images of Quincy’s most beloved historic figures, including President John Adams and First Lady Abigail Adams.
Though Purefections is clearly worth the trip on its own, it also makes for a sweet ending to any meal in or visit to Quincy. And once the MBTA gets fixed (Ha!), it will be easier than ever to get your hands on (and mouth around) some of the best chocolate on EITHER side of the Neponset River.
