While the farm-to-table movement continues to grow and more families make CSA and farmer’s markets part of their lives, there are still many who do not quite get the connection between what they eat and where it comes from. Where do we get milk? Form the supermarket. Meat? From the butcher, of course!

Fortunately, there is a very kid-friendly book (and menu of accompanying online tools) that explains all that goes into the meals that many take for granted (even when so many others have to do without). 

As the American Farm Bureau’s Book of the Year, Right This Very Minute tells the story of the stories of where our foods come from and how important it is to know. Starting with simple meals and a simple but important premise, the book introduces the reader (and the eater) to the farms and farmers who make it all possible and then encourages readers (and eaters) of all ages to be more involved in choosing and even creating what goes on their plates and into their bodies. It is a truly vital lesson delivered in a friendly, supportive way that is sustaining and easy to digest.

We are privileged to talk about great food from all over, but that does not mean that we can overlook all that goes into it and all we can get out of it- right this very minute!
