The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

Especially in these dark and colder months, there is nothing like cozying up with a spicy novel or satisfying biography. Some choose to use this time to rediscover favorite cookbooks. No matter what your literary appetite, the team behind the Book Club Cookbook have a set of spices for you.

Called Book Blends, these hand-selected and cleverly-titled taste improvers are the book-ish brainchildren of Dover’s own Judy Gelman, who is half of the team behind the cookbook itself. As the cookbook includes recipes from favorite authors, this set of spices combines fave flaves with new names, such as “A Tale of Two Chiles,” The Joy Luck Rub,” and “A Wrinke in Thyme.”

Speaking of Thyme (and the famous Simon & Garfunkel album that also used the spices for a title), the Book Club also offers a series of song-inspired seasonings, including “Thyme After Tyme,” “Were Not Gonna’ Bake It” apple pie spice, “Chai a Little Tenderness” and the Israeli-inspired “While My Za’atar Gently Weeps.” There are even options for those who like to binge watch rather than binge read, including “Dill Street Blues,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Basil,” and, of course, ”Grain of Thrones.”

All of the bottles are available individually and can be mixed and matched into gift sets to suit any flavor or fandom.

So the next time you want to add some flavor that fits with your free-time fun, join a book club that does not require any reading at all (other than the occasional recipe)!
