The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
The organic food scene in Boston has been exploding in recent years. Now, with the help of long-time Whole Foods Healthy Eating Program Director Mary Lattouf and her science-minded sister Nada, the scene has been hit with a real lulu.
Lulu Green recently opened on West Broadway in Southie and there is already a broad line to get in to try the plant based bites and drinks.
And no wonder!
With a plant-based menu that is created with fresh local organic produce and that offers such diverse delights as house-made bagels, tahini beet salad, a seitan-based shawarma bowl, zucchini noodles and a full bakery (with the addition of new brunch staple shakshuka on the weekends) and a wide range of cold-pressed juices, organic smoothies and specialty lattes and coffee drinks, as well as pear jasmine kombucha and nitro green tea on tap, Lulu Green is a great place to drop by for a snack or to settle in for a refreshing and rejuvenating break from the bustle of Broadway.
And even though the ingredients are herbivore-friendly, the flavors are rich and satisfying for anyone, so even omnivores will have no dilemma finding a favorite or two (or three!).
Combining years of food experience with familial care, Lulu Green is already shaking up the Southie scene and cresting a new wave of healthy family-friendly eateries.
