The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

Though I have touted the many national chains that have invaded Boston’s historic Seaport neighborhood, I am always grateful when a local restaurateur makes their claim, so I was thrilled to hear that Concord’s own Kristin Canty had finally been convinced to take the spot that was recently vacated by the also historical Anthony’s Pier 4.

Though the building is far more modern, Canty’s downtown edition of her famed Woods Hill Table restaurant maintains the hand-selected freshness that people have been flocking to Concord for years for. As most of the ingredients come from her farm, Canty is sure to offer the highest quality and Chef Charlie Foster (who worked at Clio and served the Guinness family in Spain) continues to use them all to maximal effect.

Though the menu changes regularly as the seasons dictate, some of the early favorites that will hopefully linger are the charred broccoli with cheddar and smoked garlic aioli, any of the house-made pasta dishes, the crispy lamb ribs, the dry-aged farm-fresh duck platter for two, and Pier 4 caviar service which makes for a fun and celebratory taste of the classic days of Anthony Athanas. Among the other Athanas Family tributes are Chef Charlie Foster’s new take on lobster Newburg and the timeless popovers that accompany it. The extensive drink menu also includes Anthony’s Vesper among many tasty and well-paired treats.

Open for lunch and dinner and Sunday brunch, Woods Hill Pier 4 is a great place to rest from work or to drive to from anywhere. Kristin and her talented team will surely be glad to see you and you will surely be glad you came!
