A lot of local restaurants and families are coming together to support those who are helping keep everyone else alive. So wouldn’t you know that our friends like Steve Peljovich of Michael’s Deli has combined forces with a local doctor and her family to do just that!

Though Dr. Sarah Reich Harris and her husband Peter are currently living in Spain with their children, the Brookline-based couple is still doing their part to support their community and those who keep it sustained and safe. Through a program they call Local Meals for Local Hospitals, the Harris family is coordinating delivery of over 300 locally-sourced meals to hospital workers who are on the front lines of the Covid pandemic. 

As they raise funds for their own program through GoFundMe (just search “Local Meals for Local Hospitals”), the Harris also hope that others expand the program in other communities. Dr. Reich has even offered her own email (sarahreich@hotmail.com) so people can contact her for support and assistance.

In addition to Michael’s the Harrises have enlisted such area favorites as Rami’s, T. Anthony’s, Dante’s and Zaftig’s, and more are joining the cause every day!
