Mamaleh’s Deli coming to Kendall Square (Originally posted 12/15)

Mamaleh’s Delicatessen

You know I loves me some deli! From Michael’s and Rubins in Brookline to Rein’s in Vernon, CT to Katzs and the Carnegie in NY, if you got corned beef, you got me!

So I am kvelling to report that the talented team behind such favorite Cambridge eateries as State Park and the dearly departed Hungry Mother are opening a Jewish deli in Kendall Square!
The new place (which will be right next to State Park) is to be called Mamaleh’s (a Yiddish term of endearment) and will feature house-made pastrami, matzoh ball soup, rugelach, kugel, lox, pickles, and, of course, corned beef. While I do not get to Cambridge all that often, I also hear they will offer take out and also have a food market and gift shop, so people can take their kosher-style favorites home with them or to grateful friends. There will even be a bar mitzvah-ready function space and an old-fashioned soda fountain where guests can enjoy authentic egg creams and more adult beverages.

I am so excited, I could plotz!
