Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
While my girls are still hip enough to love kale, they appear to be entering a picky eater phase, to the point that it is sometimes difficult to tell how much nutrition they are getting. Fortunately, I found Dr. Cowan’s Garden. It is a family-owned business that is based in San Francisco, but as Dr. Cowan’s son lives in Boston, they are expanding on the east coast as well. So finicky foodies rejoice! What Dr. Cowan does is take organic vegetables and herbs that have been used by indigenous peoples around the world for centuries as natural health aides and flavor enhancers, pick them by hand at the peak of flavor and then dehydrate them and put them in light-proof miron jars so the flavor and nutrients stayed locked in. Then all you have to do is sprinkle them on (or even under) foods for invisible, subtle-tasting nutrient packs or even use them to replace ingredients like flour in favorite recipes to make them more nutritious and gluten-free. As the sources are so well tended, you get far more nutritional punch than from any pill. In fact, there are even plans to develop powders from plants that help deal with particular illnesses like high blood pressure and diabetes. It is a deliciously pulverized health revolution!
