Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
Boston Wine Expo
I know our friend Anthony Giglio may have more to say about it, but I wanted to be among the first to mention that discount tickets are on sale through December 15 for the 26th annual Boston Wine Expo at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center February 18 and 19.
We all know there is no better Valentine’s Day gift than great wine and delicious food, but the show is also great for solo sippers, even if they do not know a Shiraz from a Syrah or a cabernet from a Chevrolet.
In addition to over 200 wineries sharing more than 1,800 wines, there will also be food demonstrations and tastings featuring such area standouts as Babbo Pizzeria and DelFrisco’s Steakhouse, as well as educational programs and a Vintners’ Reserve Lounge that will offer rare wines and experiences that are not available elsewhere.
The area’s largest and longest-running wine event is put on by the Boston Guild of Oenophilists and Conventures, the folks behind such other great events as First Night Boston, the Tufts Health Plan 10K and the new Taste of Downtown Crossing. In its 26-year history, the event has introduced thousands of wines to millions of fans and also almost $1.5 million for charities such as Tufts Medical Center, Pan Mass Challenge and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.
It’s a great take for the veteran vintner and the simple sipper alike.
