Chocolate at the Museum of Science

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

While we may not be living in Brussels, Geneva, Chichen Itza, Hershey Park, or New Orleans, Boston has a strong claim to the title of Chocolate City. As we are the birthplace of the chocolate-topped Boston Cream Pie, the site of Old Towne Trolley’s Chocolate Tour, the Langham Hotel’s Chocolate Brunch, and also the Hub of the American Industrial Revolution, it may be no wonder that our own Museum of Science is mounting a new exhibit about our favorite flavor.

Through May 7 (my birthday, folks, for anyone who wants to stop at the gift shop), Chocolate: The Exhibition will offer over 200 chocolate-related artifacts from around the world. To further sweeten the deal, the Museum will offer special events, including discussion sled by industry experts and, of course, tastings! On April 6, high school students will be invited to a special day-long session on the science of food. A special partner is Somerville’s own Taza Chocolate, who will be offering special tours related to the exhibit.

So drop by the Museum of Science and do some “research” of your own.
